Julia Fahey is a singer, conductor and music educator working with choirs and choral music for over 30 years.
Ms. Fahey is the founder and artistic director of the International award-winning Partners in Praise Girls Choir – formed in 1994 to perform with Donny Osmond in “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.” The choir won the audition and performed over fifty shows with Mr. Osmond. The experience was life changing and spiritual for Fahey and her singers.
Since then, PIP has performed at many ACDA, MMEA, NCEA Conferences and the 50th Anniversary for ISME, International Society of Music Educators in the Canary Islands. The choir participates in National and International Choral & Competition festivals each year.
The choir has performed on concert stages worldwide: Australia, Greece, Italy, Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Spain, England, Ireland, Canada, Hawaii and within the USA. Ms. Fahey and her choirs have had the privilege to sing under internationally renowned conductors such as: Bob Chilcott, Maria Guinand, Stephen Leek, Elena Sharkova, Judith Willoughby, Alice Parker, Jean Ashworth Bartle, Eric Knapp, Z. Randall Stroope, Pekka Kostiainen and Stephen Hatfield.
Ms. Fahey launched PIP's sister ensemble, the Con Brio Girls' Choir ten years ago for girls in third through eighth grade. Like PIP, girls experience an empowering atmosphere and develop a musical appreciation of other cultures.
Ms. Fahey is proud to be on the faculty at the Convent of the Visitation School and Saint Thomas Academy in Mendota Heights for the past 25 years. She teaches world music and choir to all Middle School students, produces and directs two Middle School Musicals each year, gives vocal instruction and works with talented and gifted students in “Pops Group”. She also directs the High School Choral Program at STA.
She continues to direct the Children's Choral program at Peace Lutheran Church in Robbinsdale since 1988.
In addition to conducting and teaching, Julia has maintained a professional singing career. She has toured with the Main Street Singers and sung with Fred Waring and the Pennsylvanians. She continues to perform as a guest soloist and also with her husband Chris.
Ms. Fahey is a choir enthusiast with a passion for children's voices. Her unique abilities inspire young musicians to a stirring level of excellence and keeps her in high demand.
